A Fire Ring on the Silver Strand

There are numerous rules everyone ignores
And a few unwritten codes everyone adores
On the silver strand
When the fire burns it's brightest
Use all your powers
And don't worry a bit
About rhyme or reason
At the fire ring

On the silver strand
Dolphins dance the moonfire waves
Leaping to the same merengue as the bon fire
The irregular streetlights of Tijuana
Dip in the cool ocean diamond reflections
Do you dip
With them in anticipation of evening
Conversation so brightly whispered
In reverent tones
Stoking the flames of the stars
Toes nestled in grains of sand
Hearts wrinkled in the blanket of time
Spent on the silver strand
A ring of fire the center of it all

What a book!
What a living book!
Immersed in every precious moment
The old Hotel Del embraces
With a thousand imagined memories
Looking at the lighthouse as if
It's right in front of you
A decoration on the mantle
Accenting the dolphin statue on the coffee table
The Berber carpet and sea shells together
In the living room of the moment
Your treasure
A fire ring on the silver strand
