Early Years
Ben was raised as a military brat who moved from place to place, mostly in the Pacific ring. He lived in Yokuska Japan, Okinawa, Diego Garcia - but mostly Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Ben was a Pentacostal Christian who went to church at a big church in Honolulu. He graduated from the University of Hawaii with an Electical Engineering degree then went to MIT for post-graduate work. He met Adam while working on a specialized network technology needed for Adam's work in refining nueral patterns.
Ben and Adam became friends and traded ideas about the similarites between how people and certain network systems connect and work together. Ben was especially interested in Adam's theories on the root of healing because he wanted to create a self healing network system with AI technology. When Adam called him about the opportunity to use what he knew about networks to help heal people.

When Ben's soul was unlocked he was stunned to realize the amazing way that we are connected through electo-magnetic energy. That particular power was his strength and though it could be used as a weapon, he focused his talent on developing a special network called the 'soul-net' that the 'Free Souls' had implanted in their neural system using a tiny microchip. They used the soul-net to communicate with each other no matter where they were.
But Ben was also very strong in both physical powers and his inner structure and purity. This was a paradox for Ben when it came to the question of using those powers for soul combat. His soul-net multiplied their powers but he avoided the idea of using his immense electo-magnetic powers as a weapon.
