Early Years
Jaime Valdez was born to a pastor in Mexico City. His
parents were honest and generous, they always gave what they had to
others but somehow they always had enough. Jaime did well in
school, married a young senorita named Juanita and went on the get
an MBA. He used the principles he learned from his parents to gain
a great deal of respect in South American business circles. He gave
away large sums of money to the poor, but made even more.
It was through his charitable efforts that
Jaime met Will Thibodaux. They worked together on a disaster relief
team in the Gulf of Mexico after a hurricane hit.
Will
was
impressed with Jaime’s great people skills and ability get people to
work together and they became close friends.

Jaime quickly discovered his affinity for
time/space manipulation. All the Free Souls had the ability to warp
time and space within a certain radius. Average was about twenty
feet and it took a great deal of concentration so holding the time
warp for a long period of time was taxing. Jaime could warp
timespace up to a hundred feet away and keep the warp active for an
hour. He was also strong in purity, structure and had considerable
physical skills. He was a formidable soul and very effective in
working against crime and corruption in his region, Central and
South America. Eventually the South American Crime Lords put out a
huge bounty on his head. But there was only one person capable of
collecting that bounty: Valen.
